gather on purpose

Curated retreats offer an opportunity away from the demands of everyday tasks to reflect on the values, culture, and nature of the work. Rebecca uses a combination of interactive activities, small and large group work, wellness practices, neuroscience, and music to create an environment for candor, playfulness, rigor, and growth.

Retreat topics

Rebecca will work with your team to create a retreat experience that is responsive to your existing challenges and desires for connection and/or growth and informed by principles of equity and accountability. Additionally, she offers targeted retreats on the topics below.

  • Due to the punitive and carceral culture that we live in, the term accountability is often linked with punishment and exclusion rather than with an opportunity for growth and transformation. During this retreat, we engage with accountability as a tool for community building and strategize on embedding processes for accountability in workplace culture.

  • Transforming knowledge into demonstrable action can be challenging. This retreat serves as a catalyst for the process of embodying the information, tools, and tactics of anti-racism and oppression. Using self-reflection, devised theater activities, vocal soundscapes, and group discussion, we identify limiting ideas and challenges around releasing social beliefs and behaviors that can uphold oppression towards ourselves and others.

  • Whether spoken or unspoken, there are always rules of the road in every space. Some key questions are who crafted those rules, do they honor the humanity of the people adhering to them, and how are people held accountable to those rules? In this retreat, groups are guided through a consensus-drive process to craft a Community Agreement where equity, mutual respect, and creativity can thrive from establishing culture to creating connection around everyday office practices. This process requires a minimum of two-days to complete.

  • This workshop is for Employee Resource Groups and Affinity Groups with the desire and capacity to take the lead at creating change within their working environment, and are looking for tactics and tools to support an impactful process. We work together to identify shared group goals, analyze power, and create strategy. Practices for self-care and meeting guidelines that do not replicate traditionally oppressive practices of working are also offered.
